Shop and Eat on Mass Ave
Every two or three years we publish and distribute a map of businesses along Mass Ave, from the Cambridge Common to the Arlington Line. We agreed to do another one this summer, planning to print at the end of July and distribute mid-August. Distribution to north Mass Ave will be coordinated by John, to the shopping center and immediate area by Mary, and south of Porter Square by Ruth.
Fleming Printing submitted a bid comparable to what we paid last time. After discussion we agreed to pay extra for a varnish coating. The eventual budget came to $2721 for 12,000 copies, 200 holders (we already have some), and labels. Financing will come from Harvard, Lesley, ABC, and TAGS. The universities paid Fleming directly in order to take advantage of their tax-exempt status. We reviewed a draft copy which elicited a number of comments.
