Location: Cambridge Senior Center, across the street from City Hall.
The Historical Commission will consider various cases including reviewing a landmark study report and making a recommendation to the City Council concerning the former North Prospect Congregational Church, immediately to the south of University Hall (the former Sears building.) This is a major element of Lesley University's plan to bring the Art Institute of Boston to Porter Square; they propose relocating and lowering the church to accommodate a new AIB building on the same lot. The original portion of the church would remain and be used as an arts library.
This is an important step for the Lesley/AIB project and for the future of the church. The public is invited to attend.
